This memoir recounts Kristen Iversen’s childhood in the small Colorado town of Rocky Flats, near Denver. Her childhood was filled with secrets—like why so many other children got cancer and what exactly was made in the Rocky Flats plant. When she got older, she started looking for answers and even worked at the plant for a while. She discovered a government effort to conceal what was happening around Rocky Flats. She shares the townspeople’s efforts to obtain justice for what was done to them without their knowledge.
